Disaronno is the most famous and recognizable Amaretto liqueur worldwide. It was first created in 1525 and contrary to popular belief, it is not made from almonds, but owes its characteristic bitter almond aroma to the apricot pits used. It is produced by extracting the oil of the apricot fruits into pure alcohol, sugar and aroma from 17 different herbs and fruits. Enjoy it plain, with ice and in many cocktails.
