The scientific name of whitefin tuna is Thunnus alalunga of the family Scombridae. Fresh tuna belongs to the so-called fatty fish, which are characterized by high levels of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. The tones travel in groups and each group follows its leader who leads the journey. Many times they like to gather and travel with other species of tuna such as yellowfinch or even bluefin.
